Sealed Air Introduces Five New Protective Packaging Systems at 2009 Pack Expo Show
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. (Oct. 5, 2009) – Sealed Air will unveil five new protective packaging systems at this year’s Pack Expo show held in Las Vegas. The large number of new offerings includes a variety of protective packaging solutions that can be customized to fit the specific needs of customers’ packaging operations including inflatable cushioning, paper void-fill and foam-in-place systems and materials. Media are invited to discuss Sealed Air’s extensive line of packaging solutions with product managers at the Sealed Air booth #C1233. Some of the new systems and products on display include:
Instapak® Complete System
The new Instapak® Complete system quickly and reliably produces Continuous Foam Tubes (CFTs) in a wider variety of sizes, creating tubes with diameters as small as 1 inch, allowing for reduced cube package design. This new system offers operators the high-quality protection of Instapak® foam packaging in a number of customizable combinations and sizes and includes programmable perforation technology that applies perforation between tubes, so they can easily detach for a perfect fit.
NewAir I.B.® Express System
The NewAir I.B.® Express system is the newest inflatable cushioning system from Sealed Air. This versatile, compact, high-performance packaging system quickly creates patented Barrier Bubble® material that can be used for cushioning, and blocking and bracing applications and allows operators to create cushions with widths of 12 and 24 inches. The compact size and speed of the NewAir I.B.® Express system makes it possible to create inflatable Barrier Bubble® cushions at workstations or virtually any packaging operation.
FasFil™ Paper Void-Fill System
The FasFil™ system is the latest addition to Sealed Air’s void-fill solutions and its first paper-based void-fill process. The automated FasFil™ paper packaging system reliably delivers pad-shaped paper for void-fill applications on-line and on-demand. With the flexibility of choosing the weight, width and length of paper needed, operators know they are getting the material that best suits their specific void-fill requirements.
PackTiger® Hybrid™ Paper Packaging System
The fastest paper packaging system in the industry is now available in a table-top design. The PackTiger® Hybrid™ system produces a choice of custom-length, pad-like paper cushioning or void-fill material at the flick of a switch from sheets of single-ply kraft paper. These TigerPad® packaging materials are ideal for more demanding cushioning and blocking and bracing applications, yet versatile enough to be used for void-fill applications. The compact design of the table-top model allows it to be used on demand in decentralized tabletop environments or on-line for increased efficiency.
Instapak iMold® Automated Foam Packaging System
The fully automated Instapak iMold® system instantly creates engineered, pre-molded Instapak® foam cushions for immediate use or to be transferred into storage bins for batching applications. Sealed Air’s patented Foam Dispersion Technology™ guarantees cushion consistency and integrity by dispensing Instapak® foam where it’s needed most, while eliminating material waste. Operators only need to select a mold and the desired number of cushions and the Instapak iMold® system does the rest.
NewAir I.B.® Recycled Content Film
Sealed Air has developed a new recycled content film for the NewAir I.B.® inflatable packaging system. NewAir I.B.® recycled content film is made from 15 percent pre-consumer recycled content and offers the same superior performance expected of Sealed Air protective packaging solutions.
Instapak® TempGuard™ Cold Chain Packaging
Instapak® TempGuard™ Cold Chain Packaging solutions are uniquely suited to keep temperature-sensitive products safe during shipment. Instapak® polyurethane foam is proven to insulate better than expanded polystyrene (EPS), therefore products can be kept colder for longer, allowing companies to move away from expensive overnight shipping to much more economical
2 or 3-day shipping options.
In addition to these new products, Sealed Air will also be exhibiting a number of systems including the Instapak® Pedestal Molding™ System, Rapid Fill® Automated Void Fill Packaging System, Fill-Air® Cyclone™ Inflatable Packaging System, the new PriorityPak™ Automated Packaging System and Overhead Delivery Solutions.
